Over 400 kids & families explored exciting careers (and had lots of fun) at the Career Carnival at the Showboat!
This event had something for everyone: a virtual reality adventure with Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, drone-flying with Atlantic Cape Community College, hands-on engineering projects with Ditmire Motorworks, ASCE, and Langan, high-tech fun with F&S Digital, and a comical crime scene from National CSI Camp.
Kids (and lots of adults) spent quality time with the Atlantic County Sheriff’s K9 unit as well as a couple of friendly 4H chickens, tried casting with Bass Pro Shops, got their hands (and toy cars) dirty and then clean with Shine & Go Auto Spa, had a healthy snack with Greens & Grains / Atlantic City Food Project, and talked fun and games with Lucky Snake Arcade and Steel Pier.
We had a row of amazing healthcare and community support organizations – AtlantiCare, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Oceanside Family Success Center, Hope Exists, and Hope Cares – who shared career insights, community resources, creative projects, and even free socks.
Last but certainly not least, ACIT brought their fantastic career passport program to the Career Carnival and showcased seven different areas: Air Force (JROTC), Automotive, CADD, Cosmetology, Culinary, Dental, and Photography.
