Family STEM Night at Parsippany Hills High School

When Parsippany Hills High School invited us to organize a Family STEM Night, we immediately thought of the excellent engineers, architects, forensics experts, environmental scientists, and technology professionals who had participated at past Career Carnival for Kids events…and wasted no time inviting them!

But science, technology, engineering, and math are central to many different jobs, and we learned from our PHHS partners that their STEM Pathways students were especially interested in healthcare, among other fields.

With this broader perspective on STEM, we brought together Career Guides from 22 exceptional companies and organizations to share their expertise with about 300 enthusiastic students, siblings, and parents.

Fueled by curiosity (and lots of goodies supplied by the school), the kids and families had a blast learning about a wide range of careers, and the Career Guides were thoroughly impressed by the PHHS students.

Special thanks to Fatema Sheikh, STEM Pathways Advisor, and the PHHS team as well as our outstanding Career Guides from Advance Rehabilitation Services, AHS Goryeb Children’s Hospital, AI Ager, AIA NJ EPiC, Association for Supply Chain Management Greater North Jersey Chapter, Back To Basics Nutrition Counseling, Code Ninjas – Denville, Dynamic Foot and Ankle, HNTB, Langan, Lewandowski Chiropractic, Morris County 4H, Morris County Mosquito Control, Morris County Shade Tree, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, National CSI Camp, NJ Army National Guard, Out of the Box Physical Therapy, Par-Troy EMS, Picatinny STEM, Step by Step Family Foot Care, and U.S. Navy!
